Maoist hardliners pressure for people's republic
Hardliners of the CPN (Maoists) have put pressure on the party leadership not to deviate from party's aim to establish 'people's republic' in Nepal.
Speaking during the central committee meeting at Baluwatar Monday, the leaders stressed the need to carve strategies to establish people's republic at any cost.
According to Hari Bhakta Kadel, a central committee member, the CC members suggested a rethink over the current 'liberal line' taken by the party and go for policies that could help establish a communist rule at the earliest.
Other leaders, including party spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara, refused to speak to journalists.
The central committee members have completed their turn to speak on the political report presented by party chairman and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
PM Dahal is scheduled to answer the questions raised by the speakers Tuesday. nepalnews.com ia Oct 06 08
