Minister Yadav meets Boucher
Foreign Minister Upendra Yadav, who is currently in the US to take part in the 63rd session of the UN General Assembly, met with US Assistant Secretary Richard Boucher recently.
During their meeting, US support to Nepal and free market access of the Nepali carpets to US markets were primarily discussed.
Similarly, Minister Yadav visited Philadelphia on the invitation of Non Resident Nepali Association.
During a function organised on the occasion, Mary Carrol, President of Nepal Foundation, presented a check for $5500.00 to Suman Timsina, co-chair of NRN North America Coordination Committee for the revitalisation project of Makwanpur district hospital by Help Makwanpur Foundation.
She presented a replica of liberty bell, a symbol of liberty and freedom to Minister Yadav.
Minister Yadav also engaged in discussion for help in economic development of Nepal and its rebuilding process.
He acknowledged a need of creating appropriate environment for investments. He stressed that it was felt necessary to lobby to lift travel warning issued by the government of the USA on Nepal to attract more tourists and in establishing other business relationships. nepalnews.com ia Oct 10 08
