UML CC meeting to continue on Monday

The central committee meeting of the Unified Marxist Leninist (UML) will continue on Monday.

The meeting started at the party headquarters in Balkhu, Kathmandu, Sunday.

The UML leaders said they will continue discussing a political report presented by general secretary Jhal Nath Khanal on Monday as well.

The meeting is being held ahead of the National Conference of Party Workers.

"This two day meeting will discuss about the agenda for the national conference of party workers, which is slated for Oct 16-17. The party general secretary will present his political report at the CC, which after approval, will be put forth at the national conference," UML leader Yubaraj Gyawali had earlier told Kantipur FM.

"This conference will help in preparing for the party general convention to be held soon. Besides, it will also evaluate the party's loss during the Constituent Assembly election and give fresh direction to the party," Gyawali added.

The conference is expected to give a general orientation to party's strategy in the changed context and role of UML – which is a coalition partner of the current government. nepalnews.com sd Oct 12 08
