Khanal trashes reports that he is in minority
The general secretary of Unified Marxist Leninist (UML) Jhal Nath Khanal
has trashed reports that he is in minority in his party.
He termed the reports saying that his proposal was defeated by the central
committee (CC) as "sponsored rumours".
The reports had come after Khanal's proposal to form a separate
general convention organising committee replacing the existing CC had to
be dropped after some senior CC members were against it.
Senior UML leaders have also come to the defense of Khanal.
According to former general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal, Khanal's
proposals were not put for voting. He said that making changes in
proposals during discussions and debates were a normal procedure and must
not be construed as victory or defeat.
KP Oli also said that passing a general secretary's report with some
changes is a normal process being followed by the party since a long time. nepalnews.com sd Oct 15 08
