Diarrhea claims 3

Three persons, including a minor, died and dozens other fell sick due to an outbreak of diarrhea in a Chepang settlement in Makwanpur district within the past few days, reports said.

Thaila Chepang, 70, Kanchha Chepang, 20, and five-year-old Bhamu Chepang of Bharta VDC died after suffering from a serious bout of diarrhea that spread in the settlement since Thursday.

Locals said that all of them died at home after receiving ‘spiritual healing’ from a local witchdoctor.

A medical team has already been dispatched to the affected areas, according to reports. nepalnews.com Oct 12 08
