Indian assistance to Koshi flood victims

India has provided Rs 32 crore in relief aid for Koshi flood victims in Nepal.

Indian Ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood handed over the check to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal on behalf of Government of India at a brief ceremony held at Singha Durbar, the seat of the government, on Thursday.

This assistance had been announced during the visit of the PM Dahal to India from 14-18 September 2008.

“It (India’s relief assistance) represents Government of India’s commitment to work with the Government of Nepal to effectively address the common problems faced by both the countries due to perennial floods,” stated the press release issued by the Indian embassy after the conclusion of the ceremony. nepalnews.com Oct 16 08
