UML cadres conference kicks off
The national conference of CPN (UML) cadres kicked off in the capital on Thursday.
Party general secretary Jhala Nath Khanal inaugurated the two-day conference at the National Theatre. Over 1000 delegates from all 75 districts, central leaders, Constituent Assembly members and zonal in-charges are participating in the conference, which is the biggest gathering of party cadres and leaders after the CA election in which the party performed badly.
The conference will discuss and vote on general secretary Khanal's political report which was passed by the recent central committee meeting with some changes.
Leaders said the conference will see intense brainstorming over the party's policies, organisational matters as well as the preparations for the 8th general convention of the party scheduled to be held in March this year. nepalnews.com Oct 16 08
