NSP-A splits again as rival factions go head with separate general
conventions
Nepal Sadbhawana Party (Anandi Devi) has virtually split with two rival
factions organising separate general conventions around the same time.
The general convention of NSP-A dissident faction led by former minister
Shayam Sundar Gupta started in Bhairahawa Sunday afternoon just as the
party establishment led by Anadi Devi Singh prepared to wrap up its
general convention in Lahan, Siraha district.
Singh-led faction's general convention is concluding later today electing
new central committee and revising the party's policies.
Both factions have been at loggerheads ever since the party joined the
coalition government two year's back. Then NSP-A general secretary
Rajendra Mahato quit the party last year and went on to float another
party, Sadbhawana Party (SP), which has eight seats in the Constituent
Assembly while the old party failed to take a single seat in the election. nepalnews.com mk Oct 19 08
