TMLP lawmakers boycott House proceedings over insecurity in Terai
Terai Madhesh Loktantrik Party (TMLP) today boycotted the proceedings of the Constituent Assembly sitting its capacity of legislature parliament, demanding judicial inquiry into the killing of two of their cadres in Kapilvastu district.
The TMLP lawmakers walked out of the CA hall soon after the session resumed after 20-day holiday break. They complained that the government failed to check murder, abduction and robbery in Terai region, and demanded that the Home Minister clarify the government’s view regarding the situation in Terai.
TMLP lawmaker Jitendra Sonal said the Prime Minister himself should order the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the murder of Sarullah Musalman and Ram Prasad Kurmi Chaudhary, active cadres of TMLP, Friday evening. TMLP could even obstruct CA proceedings if the government didn’t form the probe commission immediately, he warned.
