YCL cadre killed in Dhading

Situation in areas near the Prithvi highway in Dhading district became tense after a cadre of Maoist-affiliated Young Communist League (YCL) was killed in a clash, Sunday, with cadres of UML-affiliated Youth Force (YF).

The clash had occurred following an attack against UML worker Rajendra Rimal by YCL cadres in Baireni VDC on Saturday evening.

Afterwards, the YF cadres came in hordes to attack YCL office located in Adamghat area.

A YCL cadre Krishna Bahadur Bhandari who was fleeing the attack died after falling into Trishuli river, say reports.

Subsequently, the YCL cadres set fire to a petrol pump in Baireni compelling the local administration to clamp overnight curfew in the area.

Even as their mother parties, Maoists and UML, are partners in hand at the central government, the YCL and YF cadres continue to engage in clashes. nepalnews.com Oct 20 08
