Koirala accuses Maoists of interfering in judiciary
Nepali Congress president Girija Prasad Koirala has alleged the Maoists
leadership of interfering in the affairs of the judicial sector of the
country.
Talking to media persons at his residence Biratnagar Friday, Koirala cited
the recent dispute between the Supreme Court and Nepal Bar Association
(NBA) being instigated by the Maoists.
The Congress leader also cited the statement by Law and CA minister Dev
Gurung as a Maoist attempt to take control of the judiciary.
Minister Gurung recently said new judiciary would be instituted in the
country taking into account the experiences from 'people's courts'
practiced during the insurgency.
Koirala is currently in Biratnagar to inaugurate the nationwide
party-revival campaign that begins Saturday. nepalnews.com ia Oct 24 08
