UNMIN chief calls on PM
Hours before the government formed a special committee for army
integration on Tuesday, chief of the United Nations Mission to Nepal
(UNMIN), Ian Martin, met Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and discussed
the army integration process.
During the brief meeting at the PM's resident in Baluwatar the two chiefly
discussed the procedures of army integration and rehabilitation of the
Maoist combatants as per the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA).
Martin had earlier expressed hope that the parties would reach consensus
on army integration to end the peace process at the earliest.
Also discussed during the meeting was the upcoming visit of the UN
Secretary General to Nepal and preparation being made for the historic
visit. nepalnews.com ia Oct 28 08
