UML central committee meet begins

The 20th meeting of CPN (UML) central committee started at the party's central office in Balkhu Tuesday.

Leaders said the meeting will devise future strategies of the party and take decisions on organisational structure. They said the meeting will see vigorous debate over the causes behind the party's loss in the Constituent Assembly, and its role in the Maoist-led government, among others.

The meeting is also expected to set the date for the 8th general convention of the party.

At the meeting, general secretary Jhala Nath Khanal presented a report on the party's policies and organisational issues. Debate on the general secretary's dossier will go on for some days with each CC member commenting on it. nepalnews.com Sept 02 08
