Curfew makes life difficult in Dhankuta
Life in Dhakuta Bazaar has been crippled by the continued imposition of the curfew for the fourth day in a row due to fear of clash between the cadres of Young Communist League and Youth Force.
The curfew has not been relaxed since it was re-imposed on Monday morning.
The residents have been suffering from short supply of daily consumption goods as markets remained closed and transports remained out of streets.
The Tribhuvan University has halted all examinations in the district.
Currently, the university is taking examination of Bachelors second year and Intermediate levels.
Students have also been suffering due to closure of schools in the district headquarters.
The curfew badly affected the Teej festival on Tuesday. The bazaar, which used to witness the festival with merrymakings, remained deserted on this year's teej.
Local administration has initiated talks with the two fighting groups - YCL is affiliated to Maoists and YF is affiliated to UML - to find a solution. The talks failed on Tuesday as both the sides stood firm on their positions. nepalnews.com ia Sep 03 08
