Maoists and other parties were not ready for consensus: Koirala
Nepali Congress president and former Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala
has claimed that he had tried to forge broad political consensus till last
minute, but Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and leaders of other
parties were not ready for that.
Briefly speaking to reporters at NC central office, Sanepa, Koirala said
he was now worried that the constitution-making process could suffer with
the parties not being able to come together.
Koirala, who maintained silence ever since his attempts to form a
government under his leadership failed and a Maoist-led government was
installed, added that he was still ready for a consensus.
Asked for comment on the composition of the coalition government, Koirala
only said his party's ongoing central working committee meeting would
determine its view towards the Maoists and the government led by them. nepalnews.com mk Sept 03 08
