Police nab five men accused of carrying out blast at VP Jha's residence
Police have arrested five persons in connection with a bomb blast at Vice
President Parmananda Jha's residence in Gaurighat, Kathmandu, last month.
The five suspects arrested from different parts of Kathmandu are: Tek Raj
Magar, Shiv Bahadur Karki, Mohan Karki, Som Bahadur Rai and Prabin Dura.
Presenting them before media on Sunday, police officials said they had
detonated a plastic grenade in the compound of the Vice President's
residence on August 17, injuring a security guard.
Police said three others - Tara Sunuwar, Saroj Tamang and Dinesh Choudhary
- who were linked to the blast are at large and that search for them is
continuing.
The blast had taken place in the wake of a huge controversy after Jha took
oath of office in Hindi language.
A previously unknown outfit called Rastriya Mukti Sena (national
liberation army) had claimed responsibility for the explosion. nepalnews.com mk Sept 07 08
