PM pledges development package for Karnali

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said the government is preparing to announce special development package for backward Karnali region.

Inaugurating the Dolpa Festival in Dunai Monday, the Prime Minister said the development package for Karnali would be clearly laid out in the programmes and policies of the government to be unveiled on Wednesday.

The government, according to him, is working to address the aspirations of the people for a change.

Dahal arrived in Dunai in the morning by a helicopter, accompanied by peace and reconstruction minister Janardan Sharma, to inaugurate the festival.

The five-day long festival aimed at promoting tourism in the region showcases local culture and industrial and agricultural productions. nepalnews.com mk Sept 08 08
