Budget speech underway, country achieved 5.6 GDP growth rate
Finance Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said the country has achieved GDP growth rate of 5.6 percent in the last fiscal year.
While presenting the report of last fiscal year at the constituent assembly Friday, FM Dr Bhattarai said the inflation during the year has reached 7.7 percent.
He said the peace process has helped improve security situation, create investment friendly environment and increase output in the agriculture sector.
According to Dr Bhattarai, import has substantially increased while export slacked during that fiscal year reaching a negative trade balance of Rs 165 billion, India alone accounting for Rs 105 billion.
