USAID provides more emergency flood relief
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), through its Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) has announced the release of an additional $800,000 as relief funds to the recent flood victims at Sunsari and Saptari districts of Nepal.
USAID/Nepal has authorized immediate additional release of the amount, which will be granted to the International Federation of the Red Cross/Nepal Red Cross Society (IFRC/NRCS), International Organization for Migration (IOM), and Save the Children (SC). This disaster assistance money will provide emergency shelter materials for the displaced living in camps, for those who will eventually return to their homes and for the host families who are sheltering the displaced.
With the release of additional $800,000, the total flood relief assistance from USAID/Nepal stands at $921,100. nepalnews.com Sep 21 08
