Army far from politics: COAS Katawal
Chief of Army Staff General (COAS) Rookmangud Katawal on Sunday said the army was and would always remain detached from politics and would not make any compromise if it deems that the country's territorial integrity is in danger.
Addressing a passing out function of officer cadets in the capital, the army chief said meeting the standard criteria was essential for recruitment in the army.
"There is no possibility of the army inducting anyone from outside without meeting its recruitment standard," he said.
