KC warns of new round of conflict in case of integration of PLA into NA
A senior leader of main opposition has warned that the country would face a new round of conflict if the government attempts to integrate People's Liberation Army (PLA) into Nepali Army (NA) in violation of peace pacts and earlier agreement.
Arjun Narsingh KC, spokesperson of NC, said, "There would be new conflict if they forcefully integrate PLA into NA."
Addressing a programme in the capital, Thursday, KC accused the Maoist-led government of violating peace pact and the spirit of the peace process.
At the same programme, UML leader Iswor Pokharel denied that there were attempts by the government to go for wholesale integration.
"The process of army integration is spelled out in agreements. That is how it will proceed," he said. nepalnews.com Sep 25 08
