Yeti UK elects new executive committee
The Yeti Nepali Association, UK has elected a new executive committee for a period of two years.
Chiranjibi Dhakal has been re-elected as president of the Association by defeating Umesh Moktan by a margin of over 100 votes. Dhakal bagged 359 votes while Moktan bagged 241 votes.
Similarly, Rabindra Kandel has been elected to the post of senior vice president, Kamal Bhandari as vice president and Rajendra Pudasaini has been elected General Secretary of the Association.
Ramji Prasad Baral has been elected Deputy General Secretary while Sunder Khatiwada has been elected as Treasurer. Devraj Acharya, Rajan Khatri Chhetri and Sapan Rai have been elected as Secretaries to various committees while Manisha Dangol, Bishnu Tripathi, Rishiram Subedi, Dharma Bahadur Tamang, Padma Kumari Tamang and Chetnath Khanal have been elected as members of the Association.
Chief Election Officer Krishna Bhatta had announced the result of the election and handed over certificates.
Speaking after the elections, newly elected chairman of the Association Chiranjibi Dhakal said he will work towards completing the work initiated by the previous team. He said there was a need to forge unity among various communities and organisations of Nepalese residing in the UK and that he will work towards that. He also thanked all for their active support and cooperation.
