British minister, German envoy call for rehabilitation of children in PLA cantonments

British Minister for International Development Mike Foster has suggested the government to evacuate disqualified cadres from PLA cantonments and rehabilitate them in the society.

Foster said he found many children in PLA cantonment in Kailali during his visit. Rehabilitation of disqualified PLA cadres to the society would send a positive message on peace process to the international community, he said.

Foster completed his three day official visit to Nepal on Thursday.

Meanwhile German envoy to Nepal Verena Grafin Von Roedern has said European countries were disappointed due to the delay in evacuating children from PLA cantonments, Kantipur daily reported.

Roedern added, European countries were ready support in their education and rehabilitation if they were evacuated from the cantonments. But I can't understand why they are still in the cantonments, Roerdern said. nepalnews.com Apr 03 09
