Vice president Parmananda Jha said on Tuesday that education sector of the country needs drastic revamping so that Nepali students will be able to compete in the global arena.
Jha made this remark while speaking at a function organised in the capital to award those students who performed extraordinarily in the final examinations of GCE A-Levels.
The vice president also remarked that timely change in the education system will also help the country to tackle challenges triggered by globalization.
The other dignitaries present in the function were representatives of Cambridge International Examination (CIE), Country Director of British Council Ewan Davies and president and advisor of Cambridge Educators Association of Nepal (CEAN) Sudhir Kumar Jha.
This year, three Nepalese students were able to come first from all over the world in the final examinations taken by the Cambridge International Examination. Abhimanyu Chhetri of Chelsea International Academy, Anoj Shah of King’s College and Rishav Karna of Kathmandu Saipal Academy topped in their respective subjects in the final examinations held in 2008.
