More land found in the name of the deceased royal couple
Nepal Trust has discovered seven more Ropanis of land in Kathmandu and
Nuwakot registered in the name of late King Birendra and Queen Aishwarya.
Organising a press conference at the Ministry of Information and
Communications Monday, undersecretary of the trust Meen Prasad Gyawali
said the trust had sought approval of the Council of Ministers to transfer
the ownership of the land to its name.
Three plots of land registered in the name of the former royal couple were
found in Nuwakot and Kathmandu. Two Ropanis of the land is in Nuwakot
while the other five Ropanis is in Kathmandu.
Ownership of almost 200 hectares of land belonging to the former royal
family located at various places across the country has already been
transferred to Nepal Trust.
Nepal Trust was formed after the People's Movement II, to manage the
property of the former royal family. It is managing almost a dozen
