Revenue collection augments by 39.3 pc
The government has been able to achieve a record growth in revenue
collection of 39.3 percent by md-April this fiscal year.
Revenue collection saw a rise of a whopping 38.6 percent by mid-March to
reach Rs 8.67 billion during the first nine months of the current fiscal
year against Rs 70.85 billion over the same period last year.
However, the outlook of the government's expenditure on development
continues to remain pathetically gloomy.
According to the Finance Ministry, the government has been able to spend
only Rs 20 billion during the first nine months of the current fiscal year
even despite the fact that the capital expenditure allocated for this year
amounts to Rs 92 billon.
The ministry has said that most of the development expenditure would be
mobilised by the end of the year. nepalnews.com Apr 20 09
