A refugee shot dead

A Bhutanese refugee in Beldangi I camp in Jhapa district, Shanti Ram Nepal, has been shot dead by an unknown gunman on Tuesday evening.

According to the refugee-run news portal apfanews.com, an unidentified gunman fired four rounds of bullets at Nepal, 56, at around 8:45 p.m. Nepal is registered at sector B-2/155 of the camp.

“There is no security for refugees in camps”, the site quoted camp secretary T. B. Gurung as saying. Gurung accompanied Nepal’s wife and daughter as they were rushed to AMDA-Hospital in Damak. Both are reported unconscious, undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Armed Police Force, deployed for camp security, arrested two young ladies from the same camp for investigation. nepalnews.com ia Apr 22 09
