Embassies fail to clear radio dues: Information Minister
Minister for Information and Communications Krishna Bahadur Mahara on Saturday said around 300 organizations, including US, Chinese and Indian embassies, have not renewed radio frequency licenses for over a decade.
“Around 300 organizations, including Chinese, Indian and American embassies in Kathmandu, have not renewed their radio frequency licenses, although the provision requires them to renew it within 6 months to a year,” Minister Mahara said at a programme in the capital city.
The embassies, in particular, take radio signals for various purposes including ‘walkie-talkies’ that are used for internal communications
Similarly, Minister Mahara also expressed grave concern about the growing foreign interference in Nepal’s internal matters.
According to reports, the government is soon issuing a notice asking erring organizations to renew their radio licenses. nepalnews.com Feb 08 09
