Another statute proposed in UML

A consortium of youth leaders of CPN (UML) has prepared another amendment to the statute proposed by the party on Tuesday. The proposed amendment is expected to be registered at the party office Wednesday morning before the review meeting of its central committee.

The proposed amendment has provisions for full-time and part-time party workers. Full-time party workers include all members of the central committee, two-third from the zonal, one-third from the district and the chiefs and office secretaries of the area committees.

The document also proposes to impose a levy of 5% on their incomes to part-time cadres. Other propositions include no perks or wages for any assignment of the party and a public declaration of income sources of party workers of all levels.

The amendment was prepared by a group of youth leaders including Ghanasyam Bhusal, Yogesh Bhattarai, Bhim Nyaupane, Dr. Bijaya Poudel, Ajambar Kangbang, Thakur Gaire, Hikmat Karki, Ram Kumari Jhankri, among others.

Meanwhile, the review meeting of the central committee scheduled for Wednesday is expected to finalise the list of representatives for its general convention to be organised in Butwal from February 16 to 21. nepalnews.com ta Feb 11 09
