MJF starts homework for by-elections
The Madhesi Janadhikari Forum (MJF) has started homework for upcoming
by-elections in six constituencies in five districts scheduled for April
10.
The political committee of the party has formed three groups led by Jaya
Prakash Prasad Gupta, Bharatendu Mallik and Ram Lal Sotiyar to visit the
constituencies and submit reports to the party in two weeks time.
The teams will look into possible candidates of the party for these
constituencies and analyse influences of the rival parties.
Vacant constituencies are in Rolpa (vacated by PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal),
Kanchanpur (Nepali Congress leader Sher Bahadur Deuba), in Morang (MJF
leader Bijay Gachchhadar and MJF chairman Upendra Yadav), Kaski (Maoist
leader Dev Gurung) and in Dhanusha vacated by President Dr Ram Baran
Yadav.
Though the Election Commission has initiated preparations for the
election, the political parties have remained quiet. nepalnews.com ia Feb 14 09
