UML dissolves CC, closed door session begins
The closed door session of the ongoing eighth convention of the CPN (UML) in Butwal has dissolved its central committee Tuesday.
Incumbent general secretary Jhala Nath Khanal proposed the dissolution of the central committee along with all other departments of the party. After the dissolution, the party has formed several committees to monitor the convention activities.
A new 11-member presidium is led by Amrit Bohara which includes top leaders like Bharat Mohan Adhikari and Sahana Pradhan. Similarly, 15-member steering committee will work on consolidating the views from over 1,800 convention members. Committees have been formed to take note of the discussion and decision taken.
The party plans to divide its convention members into 18 groups for discussion on political document and statute amendment document to be presented by Khanal and Bohara respectively. A separate political report by young leaders is likely to get space for discussion. nepalnews.com ia Feb 17 09
