Ban on Indian vehicles affects revenue collection
Indian nationals coming to Nepal for casual work or travel have been affected after the entry of Indian vehicles from Dhadi custom point into Nepal was banned since November last year, reports RSS.
The ban was imposed by Dhadi Chhoti Customs, even though vehicles from both sides used to get free entry into the other side without any bar in the past.
Earlier, Indian vehicles were allowed to enter Nepal for 24 hours via the point after getting prior permission. However, cancellation of the provision has affected many Indians, the RSS quoted an Indian national as saying.
It is also reported that revenue collection at the point has also been affected after the ban on Indian vehicles. Earlier, the custom point used to charge Rs 452 per jeep and Rs 113 per motorcycle entering into Nepal via Dhadi.
