No scarcity of fuel: NOC

Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has said that as it has sufficient stock of petroleum products, there will not be any scarcity of such products immediately.

“The Federation of Nepal Petroleum Transporters halted the transportation of fuel for the past few days as part of their strike programme. But, there will not be crisis of fuel,” said Digambar Jha, managing director, NOC.

The federation was protesting against the recent decision of the government to phase out tankers older than 20 years. On Monday it withdrew its strike after a decision to hold dialogue within 10 days and settle the issue.

Jha, however, admitted that little shortage had been witnessed due to the protest of the federation. nepalnews.com Feb 20 09
