The CIAA has fined Rs. 5000 each and directed to furnish property details within 30 days to Assistant Forest Officers Krishna Dev Yadav, Ganga Prasad Singh, Under Secretary Ram Krishna Bhandari, Medical Officers of National Tuberculosis Center, Sanothimi Dr Shashi Kant Jha, Pushpa Malla, Sundar Shyam Jha, Officers of Ministry of Local Development Bijaya Kumar Karki, Bhakti Bilas Subedi, Krishna Prasad Aryal, Planning officers Jagdishwar Sedhai, Shishir Poudel, Harikrishna Gyawali, Tufan Singh KC, Basu Dev Rijal, Niranjan Shrestha and Dev Bahadur Adhikari.

According to Corruption Control Act, anyone holding a public position should furnish his/her property details within sixty days of the end of a fiscal year.

The CIAA is still mum about the issue of the Prime Minister and ministers not filing their property details. It is learnt that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and seven ministers of his cabinet have also not filed their property details. They should have filed their property details by October 31, 2008, as per the provisions of the Act. CIAA has not mentioned anything about why it had not fined the ministers. nepalnews.com Feb 22 09
