PADT challenges SC order

The Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) has moved the Supreme Court (SC) challenging its earlier interim order regarding the appointment of new priests in Pashupatinath temple.

The trust submitted a plea, Monday, urging the apex court to vacate its interim order calling it as unfair and unjust.

The SC had, on January 1, delivered an interim order asking PADT to maintain status quo and not allow new priests to perform Puja. However, the Trust has already been flouting the order.

On Monday, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' had promised to respect the SC order. nepalnews.com Jan 06 09
