Govt comes up with new grant policy

The government has unveiled new grant policy-2009 by increasing the volume of grant being provided in alternative energy technologies to mitigate energy crisis in the country.

The grant policy recently passed by cabinet meeting has provisioned subsidy on sources of various renewable energy, including biogas, small and micro hydropower, solar power, improved water mill, improved stove and wing.

The grant policy was amended with an aim to provide opportunities to low income rural households on the consumption of renewable energy by promoting source and technology of renewable energy in rural areas. nepalnews.com Jan 21 09
