Revenue department to implement ICP concept

Revenue Department director general Bodh Raj Niraula on Monday revealed that his department was going to commence four Integrated Check Posts (ICPs) at four custom points.

While speaking at a function held in the capital to mark the 57th International Custom Day, Niraula said, "We are all set to implement the concept of ICP at four custom points. Among the four such points, the Birgunj customs point will see the light of the day within a month.”

He also stated that the Revenue Department is focused on devising various strategies to facilitate trade and industry, compile and maintain imports and exports statistics, promote the culture of integrity within customs and chalk out measures to control revenue leakages, among others.

Speaking at the same programme, Ministry of Finance (MoF) secretary Rameshwor Khanal highlighted the need to bring greater effectiveness and efficiency at custom offices across the country.

Similarly, Kush Kumar Joshi, president, FNCCI (Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry) asked the government to make the customs administration friendly in terms of trade facilitation. nepalnews.com Jan 27 09
