Three-party meeting postponed

A meeting of the big three parties scheduled for Wednesday morning has been postponed upon the request of the Unified CPN (Maoist).

As advised by the leaders of 24 parties Tuesday, the big three – Maoists, CPN (UML) and Nepali Congress – had planned to meet today to discuss the political deadlock and the House disruption.

The Maoist leaders cited absence of their party chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal as their inability to join the meeting today. Dahal is currently in Chitwan in a reunion with family and relatives after several years.

The leaders of the big three parties had on Tuesday failed to make any breakthrough on the deadlock. The smaller parties have advised them to solve the crisis through dialogue.

Maoists have been stubborn on their demand to revoke the president’s decision to reinstate CoAS Rookmangud Katawal while other parties have refused to debate on the issue. nepalnews.com ia Jul 01 09
