PM urges TU to enhance quality of education

Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has urged Tribhuvan University for timely changes to fulfill the need of the qualitative, technical and professional education.

Speaking at a function organised by the university marking its Golden Jubilee in the capital Wednesday, PM Nepal said there are many challenges for the university to face the competitive market.

PM Nepal, who is the chancellor of the university, further underlined the need to promote the university as the center of learning and research activities that meet international standards and recognitions.

Appreciating the contribution made by the university despite several hurdles, PM Nepal expressed commitment of the government to support for its development and expansion.

Addressing the same function, vice chancellor Dr Madhav Sharma said TU has to be kept out of politics and violence if everyone feels the need to enhance quality and professionalism in education.

He called for cooperation and support from all sections to strengthen TU's capacity to compete at the international level. nepalnews.com ia Jul 01 09
