Maoist students abuse campus chief

Cadres of Maoist affiliated student union All Nepal National Independent Students Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) in Ilam have abused their campus chief by smearing tar on the latter's face, Wednesday.

Some half dozen students led by ANNISU-R unit secretary Rabin Bhattarai stopped Jasa Bahadur Lungeli, chief of Mahendra Multiple Campus, Illam as he was walking out of his office to attend a function organised by the campus to mark golden jubilee of Tribhuvan University and smeared soot on his face.

The students questioned the campus chief why the function was organised without asking them before smearing soot on his face. They chanted slogans demanding the chief's resignation and fled away in motorcycles.

Earlier, the Maoist-affiliated students had smeared soot on the face of Vice-chancellor of Tribhuvan University Madhav Prasad Sharma and the Rector Soorya Lal Amatya. nepalnews.com Jul 02 09
