Power cuts down to 10 hours a week
With the increase in power generation due to the arrival of monsoon, Nepal
Electricity Authority (NEA) on Sunday slashed the power outage, known as
load-shedding, to 10 hours a week effective from tomorrow.
NEA informed that the power cuts will be for six days a week and will
follow the same earlier routine.
This means that consumers will have to bear less than 2 hours of power
cuts a day.
Earlier, the power cut was for 14 hours a week.
Increase in water levels in the NEA reservoirs due to heavy rainfall
including Kulekhani-1 and II hydropower projects coming in operation
contributed to the cut down in load-shedding hours, NEA said. nepalnews.com July 05 09
