Home Minister assures action against Tri-Chandra assault-accused
Home Minister Bhim Rawal has said those involving in the vandalism and
assault on the cadres of Nepal Students Union (NSU) in Tri-Chandra College
would not be spared.
Speaking to a delegation of NSU Tuesday, the Home Minister said search for
the accused is underway, but police have not been able to arrest anybody
yet. He expressed confidence that the police would nab the accused and the
initiate legal action.
NSU delegation led by its president Pradeep Poudel complained that the
administration had done nothing so far to bring the gang members into
justice. He said members of the UML-affiliated ANNFSU and Youth Force were
involved in the attack.
NSU central member Bhimsen Gurung received a bullet in his foot and half a
dozen others were injured in the clash that erupted following a dispute
over the contract for the construction of a college building Sunday
afternoon. The office of the campus chief was vandalised and torched
