Nepal go down against Thailand in ACC Twenty20
Nepal's winning streak in the ongoing ACC Women's Twenty20 Cricket
Championship in Malaysia ended with a 23-run loss against Thailand in the
final league match at the Kinrara Oval, Malaysia on Wednesday.
After winning the toss, Thailand elected to bat and scored 80/9 in 20 overs.
But the Thai team defended the modest total well with some exceptional
bowling performance.
At one time, Nepal looked comfortably on its way to victory when it made
42 runs in 10 overs at the loss of just 3 wickets. But the game started to
turn around after Nepal started losing wickets in quick successions and
were bowled out for just 57 runs in 15.1.
Thailand's Thanapan Saisud received the player of the match for her spell
of 4 wickets in 2.1 overs.
With the win, Thailand sits comfortably at the top of the group table.
Despite the loss, Nepal is already in the semi final because of the
earlier four consecutive wins in the tournament.
The Nepalis women will take on Hong Kong, who is unbeaten in Group B, in
the semi-finals on Friday. nepalnews.com
