Demonstrations against Koirala and Oli in Jhapa

Family members and relatives of the martyrs of Jana Andolan and those disappeared during the insurgency pelted stones at the function attended by former prime minister and president of Nepali Congress Girija Prasad Koirala in Birtamod Saturday morning.

Senior leader of CPN (UML) K. P. Sharma Oli also attended the function meant for inauguration of martyr’s monument.

The demonstrators charged the political parties for failing to respect martyr and their aspirations and for not inviting martyr’s family members in the inaugural ceremony. Police fired several rounds of tear gas cells to disperse the agitators. Demonstrators greeted the two leaders with black flags.
