Govt to build four more museums
Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal announced on Saturday that the
government would build four national museums across the country.
Speaking to journalists after visiting the ethnicity museum in Bhrikuti
Mandap, Kathmandu, PM Nepal said similar museum will be established in
Champadevi, Kirtipur, that will reflect the culture and traditions of the
103 indigenous communities listed so far. The Narayanhity Museum will
showcase the history of Shah dynasty, Martyr Memorial Museum in Gokarna
will house the history of democratic movements and contribution of the
martyrs in the political changes and another proposed one in Nawalparasi
will display culture and traditions of the Tharu community.
He further said, Minister of Finance Surendra Pandey has been instructed
to allocate budget for building these museums while preparing the upcoming
budget.
Nepal is scheduled to inspect the area in Gorkarna allocated for building
