Maoist Supremo spends three days in luxury resort; comes up with revised party policy
Former Prime Minister and chairman of the Unified CPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has returned to his residence in Naya Bazar Saturday evening after spending three days in a luxury resort in Godavari, reports say.
Prachanda, who had mostly confined himself within the boundaries of his Naya Bazar residence meeting few party leaders and cadres and limited his public appearance to a very few party functions after stepping down from the government last month, sought solace of the upscale resort to prepare the strategies of the party in the changed political scenario.
During his stay in Godavari, chairman Dahal has come up with a revised political document which stresses on a consensus and need for a national unity government and expresses commitment to multi-party democracy, writing the constitution in time and taking the peace process to a logical conclusion, sources say.
Dahal has also analysed his party’s activities and policies adopted during the last three years since the beginning of the peace process till his government was toppled down last month, on the political document.
