JVTC donates 30,000 to ailing Dinesh Baniya

Jawalakhel Volleyball Training Centre (JVTC) has donated Rs 30,000 for the treatment of Dinesh Baniya, an ailing volleyball player who is suffering from kidney failure.

Baniya is in need of kidney transplant that costs around 1.2 million rupees. Baniya is undergoing treatment at Blue Cross Nursing Home.

Baniya was the member of the Nepali team in the sixth and seventh South Asian Federation (SAF) Games in 1991 and 1993.

The JVTC handed over a cheque of Rs 30,000 to Nepal National and International Players Association (NNIPA).

According to Deepak Shrestha, general secretary of NNIPA, Bhakta Thapa, Bharat Bahadur Thapa, Dhana Bahadur Thapa, Sobit Prasai, Golchha House, Indrajeet Raj, Niranjan Prasai, Raju Sharma, Krishna Sitaula, Nemraj Timilsina and Sanjay Bhattarai of Biratnagar have raised Rs 27,500 for the treatment of Baniya. nepalnews.com bt June 11 09
