Maoists demonstrate in front of police office against death of party cadre
Hundreds of Maoist cadres staged demonstration in front of the
Metropolitan Police Post at Balaju, Kathmandu, Sunday evening, against the
suspicious death of their fellow cadre.
Maoist cadres staged demonstrations upon learning that the Kathmandu
district committee member of the Unified CPN (Maoist) Rajendra Phuyal, who
had gone missing since over week, had died.
Maoists and the kin of the deceased have accused the UML-affiliated Youth
Force of killing Phuyal after abducting him.
Police has said, they found Phuyal lying unconscious on the roadside and
died while he was being taken to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital
for treatment.
The Maoist cadres staged demonstrations in front of the police post and
tried to vandalise it accusing the police of not informing the kins of the
deceased earlier. Phuyal had died on Thursday, while his family got the
information on Sunday.
Earlier, Maoist cadres had staged demonstrations at TUTH, where Phuyal's
post-mortem was carried out. nepalnews.com Jun 14 09
