Curfew in Dhading as Maoist protest turns violent
The local administration in Dhading clamped curfew in the district
headquarters Dhading Besi from 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm Sunday following clashes
during the Maoist protest.
There were clashes between the Maoist cadres and the police after the
latter intervened after the protesters manhandled local development
officer Ramesh Kumar Adhikari and tried to vandalise the District
Development Committee office.
The Maoists staged dharna (sit-in) at government offices across the
country today as part of their ongoing protest against the President's
move blocking the previous government's decision to dismiss the army
chief. nepalnews.com June 21 09
