Home minister meets Khyati's aggrieved family

Home Minister Bhim Rawal on Saturday met the family members of Khyati Shrestha, an 18-yr-old college girl who was abducted and brutally murdered, expressing his sympathy to the aggrieved family and assuring speedy and fair investigation into the murder case.

The Home Minister also told the Shrestha family members and relatives that the government would do everything possible to make sure that that those involved her murder would get the toughest sentence. He met the Shresthas at their rented apartment in Anamnagar.

Last week, police had arrested the alleged murderer Biren Shrestha (Pradhan) and a girl named Merina Shakya who allegedly assisted him in the crime. Severed body parts believed to be Khayati's were recovered in Lalitpur, Kathmandu and Chitwan according to the statements given by him during interrogation.

Police also recovered the Rs. 900,000 out of Rs 1 million he took from the victim's family.
